The President Hotel

The President Hotel was completed in 1926 during a time when KC was trying to shed it's cowtown image.  It served as the headquarters for the 1928 Republican National Convention nominating Hubert Hoover for president.  It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.  It's doors closed in 1980 but underwent massive restorations and reopened in 2005 as the Hilton's President Hotel.

That's quite an impressive hotel! I wouldn't mind staying in the Presidential suite of the President Hotel!
Happy Advent, Regina!

It looks like a great place to stay when visiting the city. I'll keep that in mind.

It's always nice to see grand old buildings getting a new lease of life, even better when they stay what they were built to be.

Nice cab reflection too!

What a wonderful building - glad it has been saved!

Nice! I am glad to read that it has been preserved. Old in-town hotels fight a continual battle to meet today's standards. I like historic hotels . . . so long as they have been kept well-functioning.
