I thought this was an interesting and unique name for a hair salon.  Found in the City Market area.

Theme Day - Bakeries

B is for Bloom Baking Co, a fabulous bakery in City Market.  I have been hearing lots about Bloom recently and everything I've heard is correct.  I have no idea how they keep up with the crowds on the weekends because this is a must stop place.

The first day of each month is Theme Day on CDP click below to see more bakeries.

Scrape the Plate

I saw this sign as I traveled through City Market early one morning and thought what a wonderful name.  I found through their website that they are caterers.  As I browsed their menus I found many items I would want to try and thought how fun it would be to have a party for all my CDP friends, can you all make it to KC?

I had quite a reaction to yesterdays mural...  KCDP was mentioned on Tony's Kansas City, he links to different photos of mine every couple of weeks or so.  I can usually guess which photos he will mention and I am usually right.  btw Tony has a fondness for women.

TLC

With an older building there is always a need of repair.  In my own home, it seemed the list keeps growing, I can't imagine trying to keep up with a building over 100 years old, let alone the buildings elsewhere in the world that date centuries.

River Market

I was in River Market last weekend on Delaware St and found some of the old buildings like this one nicely maintained while others were in need of some TLC (which I will show in coming days).  River Market is one of the oldest and most historic areas of Kansas City.  The name River Market came from its dock on the Missouri River and the open air market (City Market).  This has been a vibrant area since the early 1800's.

City Market

Since 1857 City Market has been the largest farmers market in the midwest.  Yesterday photo of the Steamboat Arabia sits in City Market.  There are 30 full time businesses in the Market that offer specialty foods, restaurants, floral, home decor...  The farmers market is open year round every Saturday and Sunday offering fruits, vegetables, baked goods, bedding plants and much more.  Once the weather gets nice this is the place to be on weekend mornings.  This area is also known as the River Market because it sits right next to the Missouri River, just adjacent to downtown KCMO.
