Shoal Creek Living History Museum

Through my wanderings at Hodge Park (yesterdays photos), I stumbled into the Shoal Creek Living History Museum, a village of more than 20 authentic 19th century buildings.  Most of these building date from 1807-1885  and sit on 80 acres in Hodge Park.  The entrance to this area is different than the athletic fields I've pictured in the past.  The Museum has special reenactments throughout the year to bring Missouri to life in that era.  I had never realized the Museum was this extensive.  Last weekend when I took these photos was beautiful warm weather as you can see, this weekend has been cool with overcast skies.

They have kept this whole area very authentic to the past. It would be fun to visit.

Great that they kept all this together, a really good way to see how people lived.

It looks wonderfully restored! Were the buildings all there originally or were some of them moved to that location?

Lol, I don't think I would have resisted the sign either.
