May Theme Day - Mailboxes

I live in a suburb on the edge of Kansas City.  There are many homes with expansive acreage around my development and I frequent down different back roads when I am returning from some place and have the time.  This mailbox was found in what is referred to as the Northland, being North of the River (some folks refer to this area as God's Country).  The Missouri River divides the city.  This particular mailbox belongs to someone who owns a Custom Auto Body shop in North Kansas City, I blurred out the name to protect the innocent.  I found the body shop while cutting through the streets of NKC while attempting to avoid traffic roadwork on the bridge going over the Missouri River.  I later found the mailbox and knew the name.  I have seen roadsters and other custom vehicles outside the body shop and they are extraordinary.

The poles and steel around the mailbox are there to protect it from teenagers who love to bash mailboxes with baseball bats.

Strange design, but glad it works!
It looks nicer than some of the "armor" I've seen. :)
Happy theme day!!!

I wonder if that's were ZZ Top lives. Looks like the car from their old videos. Great find!

A very clever mailbox and a very clever protection system.

I love it! Maybe that is where ZZ Top gets away from it all as Randy said.

So, teenagers with baseball bats frequent KC, too. This is a good way to protect the mailbox and advertise the owner's business.
