Union Hill Gardens

Union Hill has a garden tour every June, this years is June 12th.   It is a fun event on in which I will be attending.  You can visit their facebook page to learn more.  By the way that glorious tree seen in several photos of the last week (to the right in this photo at left) can be seen in fabulous white blooms here.

Wednesday Doorways

I found this while wondering around Union Hill, one of my favorite neighborhoods.  In the coming days I am going to show you some of the gardens around this doorway.

Redbud and Lamppost

Taken a mere two weeks ago in the Union Hill neighborhood.  We had a couple of weeks of very warm weather, the flowers bloomed and disappeared to leaves about a month ahead of norm.

Dogwood is in Bloom

Spring in Kansas City is beautiful.  The flowers are all in bloom, redbuds, dogwoods, lilacs, snowballs, crabapple, tulips and many others.  Here is my favorite the dogwood.

After the storm

Driving on Main Street two mornings after the blizzard was still treacherous.  Most roads were in good condition, the highways were clear.  Cars on Main St moved slowly all morning.

And more snow

Kansas City was hit by the blizzard yesterday and I have barely been outside.  I am working from home again today but hope to get out late afternoon to snap a few photos.  This photo is from a recent snow storm when I was out exploring.  Yesterday's snowfall was significant with blowing winds (big drifts) and today is cold, cold.  Check out the temps in KC to the right of this post.

More Old Modern

I find the back of yesterday's building just as interesting.  I like the old brick and admire this Design firm's renovation.

Modern Old

I find this old building quite appealing with it's renovated modern flair.   This building appears to have lived many lives.

Dwarfed by trees

This large house has everything I would want, tall trees, wrap around front porch and a turret.

Colorful Home

This neighborhood has always been one of my favorites.  Love that purple fence.

Union Hill

Last week I strolled thru the historic Union Hill neighborhood.  It is located between downtown Kansas City and Westport (a historic area for future post).  I have found that I enjoy grouping areas of KC together, I am motivated in that respect.  I hope my followers do not find my buildings boring but it is what inspires me.  I am glad I strolled this neighborhood last week, as this weeks winds have blown all the leaves from the trees.  Each entrance into this neighborhood is flanked by double brick columns.

Neighborhood with Downtown View

It was a great fall day for a walk.  This was Monday before Tuesday's winds arrived.  I didn't realize the day I walked around this wonderful neighborhood was trash day and all those blue bins you see are emptied recycle bins.
