The history of this graveyard is a very sobering story, Regina. Thank you for contributing it to Taphophile Tragics.
I wonder why it was called the Huron Indian Cemetery. I cannot find any reason for this in the story you link to. I wonder how many of the folks agitating for the development of the lands for gambling are native americans and how many are descended from europeans?
I enjoyed this little excursion in your First Peoples.

A very interesting post. And yes, a very sad subject.
i'll have to come back and read that, gotta wake the boys up....
This would be an interesting cemetery to wander around.. and to think further on the injustices suffered.
Quite a history! Sounds like it might not be the greatest area for you to be wandering in.
I have not heard of them being headstones though... and I feel ????????
Interesting post. Nice shots too.
I will have to read this when I have a moment, sounds interesting.
