I have been watching this Church of the Latter Day Saints temple make a cut in the skyline of the Northland for the last year or so. Recently I read a public open house will take place in April. Fences are still up as construction continues. There use to be a narrow two lane road that connected the area to the highway, now the road has been widen. The area has been vastly improved with a roundabout, arbors, gardens and benches.
From the content of your recent pics, there seem to be lots of church-goers in KC!!!
ReplyDeleteThe architecture of churches has always amazed me.
Two words Teresa, Bible Belt.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your open house shots!
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a huge vessel!
ReplyDeleteThese don't make an appearance in Maine... just the black-suited gents.
ReplyDeleteIf the plan is to make it big and imposing, they nailed it.
ReplyDeleteWow, Jack nailed it 'imposing' is right!
ReplyDeleteI never really liked the design of their churches. First time I've seen one with a statue on top.
ReplyDeleteGreat building!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jack. Very imposing. And, very familiar. There are some just like this around these parts.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's massive.
