Shoal Creek Living History Museum II

There are 20, 19th century buildings dating from 1807-1885 in this village.  During the fall there are reenactments of civil war battles and a Harvest Festival.  I somehow always missed these events, maybe this fall.

  1. I love the fact that these types of buildings are still standing for our enjoyment and knowledge.

  3. I think pumpkins would be cool here! I like the way we can almost see through the window!

  4. This reminds me of Lincoln's home village of New Salem Illinois.

  7. You'd have to keep a fire burning all the time... I have a friend who does Civil War Re-Enactments... with explosives and horses... so real!

  8. You didn't get much privacy in houses like that, did you?
